The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) is dedicated to improving the security of states and their people within a framework of democratic governance, the rule of law, and respect for human rights. For our Human Resources Unit, we are looking for a dynamic and motivated team player to be our next:
HR Assistant (80 %)
Location: Geneva
Starting date: 1 April 2019 or as soon as possible
Duration: 6 months, renewable
The role
- Reporting to the Head of HR, the HR Assistant’s main duties and responsibilities will be to:
- Welcome new employees and be in the charge of the on-boarding administration
- Complete the administrative steps of the employee life cycle, including off-boarding
- Draft employment contracts, addendums and work attestations
- Handle work permits requests, renewals and follow-up
- Fill in insurance claims (accident, sickness and maternity)
- Affiliation to the Swiss social systems (AVS, LPP, etc)
- Draft work certificates
- Assist in the recruitment process (posting of job vacancies, setting up interviews, etc.)
- Replace the Payroll Officer in case of absence
Your experience
- At least 2 years’ experience as HR Assistant
- Swiss certificate for HR Assistant a strong plus
- Experience in salary processing a plus
- Excellent English and French (both written and spoken)
- Experience in national or international public sector organizations an asset
- Service-oriented
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Attention to detail and rigorous
- Strong team-player
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Swiss or EU citizenship or a valid work permit for Switzerland at the time of application is a pre-requisite
