The Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) assists partner states in developing laws, institutions, policies and practices to improve the governance of their security sector based on international norms and good practices. For our office in Ramallah, we are looking for a highly motivated and qualified professional to be our next:
International Programme Manager/Project Coordinator (100%)
Location: Ramallah, occupied Palestinian territories (oPt)
Starting date: 1 March 2018 or as per agreement
Duration: unlimited
Your mission
Oversee a portfolio of projects with executive authorities and civil society, and supervise project staff
Manage projects through the entire project management cycle
Liaise and coordinate with relevant national and international stakeholders, including executive and legislative authorities, police and security forces, community leaders, civil society and media
Ensure timely and appropriate reporting
Support the Head of Office in all aspects relating to operational planning in the implementation of the country strategy
Represent DCAF in working meetings and donor meetings
Ensures high quality narrative and financial reporting, within established deadlines.
Your profile
A minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar function, preferably in the MENA region
Proven track record in managing complex projects
Experience working with security and justice sector institutions and/or on change management and institutional reform
An advanced degree in a subject of interest to our Centre
Excellent command of English and preferably an ability to work in Arabic
Cultural sensitivity and familiarity with the Arab world
