For our Operations Department, Europe and Central Asia Division, we are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to be our next:
Project Assistant – Justice and Security Programme (50 %)
Location: Geneva
Starting date: June 2020 or upon mutual agreement
Duration: one year with possibility of extension to two years
The role
You will support the implementation of the Justice and Security programme, which seeks to assist judicial systems in Bosnia Herzegovina and North Macedonia to strengthen their capacity for independent supervision of the use of intrusive methods for information collection (such as communications interception, wiretapping or secret surveillance) by law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
You will work under the supervision of the project coordinator and in close cooperation with other project team members in Geneva, Sarajevo and Skopje.
Key areas of operation:
· Contribute to the logistical organisation of project activities;
· Assists with financial and administrative management aspects of project implementation;
· Draft project related documents (project proposals, reports, fact sheets, etc.);
· Conduct research on project-related topics;
Your experience:
· University degree or currently enrolled in university studies in a relevant field, such as law, political science, security studies, history, development;
· Prior experience in assisting project management including financial aspects, and the organisation of workshops and training activities, is an asset;
· Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken;
· Knowledge of a Western Balkan language is an asset;
· Swiss or EU citizenship or a valid work permit for Switzerland at the time of application is a pre-requisite.
