For our Operations Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Division, we are looking for a highly dedicated professional to be our next:
Project Assistant (100 %)
Location: Geneva, with occasional travel to the region
Starting date: 1 June 2019 or as per agreement
Duration: 24 month fixed-term contract, with possibility of extension to a maximum of 24 additional months
The role
The Project Assistant will support the MENA Division’s management, as well as the Donors’ Relations Project Coordinator in the development, implementation, follow-up and coordination of activities.
Key areas of operation:
- Assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of security and justice sectors reform projects in the Middle East and North Africa region
- Conduct research on issues relevant to security and justice sector governance and reform in the region
- Draft quality narrative and financial proposals and reports, within established deadlines
- Assist the Donor Relations project Coordinator in fundraising and management of donor relations, including research of donor funding strategies, priorities and instruments, and the development of a donor engagement matrix
- Assist the editing and layout of MENA publications and communication tools
- Contribute to the organization of workshops and events for the division
- Carry out logistical and administrative tasks for the smooth running of planned activities
Your experience
- University degree in political sciences, international relations, law, development, security studies or related field
- Prior experience in project and grant management for an international organization would be an asset
- Excellent command of English; knowledge of French and Arabic is a distinct asset
- Good English writing skills and capacity to write and edit reports for publication
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Cultural sensitivity, ideally familiarity with the Arab world
- Swiss or EU citizenship or a valid work permit for Switzerland at the time of application is a pre-requisite
